The training school will take place from 15 to 20 September 2019 at the Võru Kubija Spa, Võru, Estonia. Language is English.

Who is eligible?

This training school is open to students and Early Career Scientists specialised in a variety of Earth Science related disciplines who wish to expand their knowledge in remote sensing of the natural environment. Upon selection of students, the candidates applying remote sensing in their everyday research are preferred, but all interested students can apply. The students are expected to present 5 min overview about their reseach topic and encouraged to introduce their own research to other participants via poster presentation at the event. All students with proficient knowledge of English language are warmly welcomed to apply.

Submission requirements

Applicants should have a background in Earth system or other natural sciences. Required material to be submitted is:
  • Your contact (name, address, affiliation, e-mail) and a short CV (max. 2 p)
  • A letter of motivation (max. 1p)
  • A valid confirmation of student status (or copy of MSc or PhD certificate)

This material must be sent by E-Mail to Karin Pai (karin.pai@ut.ee) by 19. June 2019.

Participants will be selected by the conference committee on the basis of scientific quality.

Applicants will be notified by 22 June 2019.

What is covered?

There is no fee for the summer school. Accommodation in Võru (including breakfast and coffee breaks) will be covered for students from EU. Bus shuttle from Tartu to Võru and back will be covered to all participants, travel to Tartu and back home is not covered.
